I am 8 weeks in to ‘spontaneous’ sobriety. I drank every day. Sometimes just a glass or two of wine, other days a bottle punctuated by shots of whiskey. 8 weeks ago I woke up and decided to take a break. I’m still here. Having a membership to the gym has also been crucial for my sobriety. I also now wake up at 5am and head to the gym before getting kids ready for school. Now in the evenings I am too tired (a healthy tired) to consider staying up and drinking. I am also a writer and am loving how much time, energy and brain function I have for all of my writing projects. Thanks for this article!
